Industrial sector: Upgrading project of No (2) ITC (Mandalay) launched

The Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than visited No (7) Textile Factory in Myittha Township, Mandalay Region on 7th December, inspected the process of textile production  and instructed to lever up the production to be Breakeven Point-BEP, to address the quality improvement of the threads and carry out the tasks with the plans of human resource development.

The launching ceremony of upgrading project for No.2 Industrial Training Centre (Mandalay) was held at the Centre in the morning on December 8 and attended by the union minister, deputy minister, Mandalay Region Government ministers, senior officials from the ministry, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China Mr.Chen Hai and Consul General, Technicians from ZHONGMEI Engineering Group Ltd which is going to implement the upgrading works of the Centre, invited guests and instructors of the Centre.

As the agenda, Union Minister Dr. Charlie Than, deputy minister U Ko Ko Lwin, minister for economic affairs U Thein Htay, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China Mr. Chen Hai, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China and responsible official from ZHONGMEI Engineering Group Ltd opened the upgrading project of training centre by cutting the ceremonial ribbon.

In his opening remark, the union minister said that the launching of upgrading project for No.2 Industrial Training Centre (Mandalay) is the day strengthened the industrial development of the country. For the development of a country, the peace and stability as well as the intelligence and achievement in technological skills of the citizens are needed.

Especially, only then the achievement in development of vocational skills is acquired, the socio-economic life of the people will improve. In these days, the vocational skills are playing pivotal role day by day.  As the vocational trainings teach the subjects conformed to the students’ avocation, it’s important to value the vocational skill not only by the students but also by the parents.

Countries treasure the vocational skills become developed. After completion of upgrading works, this training centre will enable to turn out 240 skilled labors in 6 subjects per year. The People’s Republic of China is requested to provide training for trainers to be able to use the advanced teaching aid equipments in their teaching, teachers training courses or training of trainers (TOT).

And the Government of the People’s Republic of China which provides for the development of TVET sector in Myanmar, Chinese technicians from ZHONGMEI Engineering Group Ltd., which is going to implement the upgrading works and all responsible persons are thankful.

Then, the Ambassador Mr. Chen Hai clarified that the No.2 Industrial Training Centre (Mandalay) was established with the assistance of the People’s Republic of China in 2008 and skilled workers have been turning out. For the extension of teaching subjects, the upgrading works are implemented.

The industrial and advanced technical experiences of China will be shared for the development of industrial sector in Myanmar under the belt and road initiative and the project of China-Myanmar Economic Corridor. The People’s Republic of China will provide the continuation of assistances to turn out the skilled labors from TVET to meet the requirement of industrial sector in Myanmar through the China-Myanmar friendly relation. Next, the union minister and guests viewed around the status to be upgraded in the training centre.

Afterward, the union minister arrived at the Myotha Industrial Garden City and responsible persons of the industrial zone reported the status of implementation for the industrial zone and the future work plans. In responding to the reports, the union minister gave the necessary instructions and inspected the status of motor vehicle assembly under SKD system operating by AYA Motors International Group Co., Ltd. Later, the union minister and the ambassador of PRC together with the members discussed the detailed process to develop COVID-19 vaccine (Ninopharm) in the pharmaceutical factories under the ministry of industry.
