Indonesia still had a lot of works to do in order to reach the country’s target to reach carbon neutrality by 2060, the Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment said in Jakarta on Tuesday.
One of the works is to prepare for a road map for the implementation of carbon trade and carbon tax, which will be used as the guides in collecting carbon tax and expanding the operation of the carbon emission credit exchange, the Coordinating Minister said after the launch of the carbon emission credit exchange.
He explained that the newly launched carbon exchange would be directly supervised by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), which would use block chain technology to conduct its supervisory works.
