Indonesia has destroyed illegal goods worth Rp12 billion

On Monday, Indonesia’s Trade Minister witnessed the demolition of the illegally imported goods in East Java. The ministry destroyed 12 types of products as they violated import procedure. The illegally imported goods came from China, Vietnam and among other countries. From January to June this year, the Ministry found 33 violations.

Indonesian Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises have great potential to grow and ability to compete with their foreign companies. According to the Minister, 33 percent of commercial goods in Indonesia were imported. The entry of illegal goods could harm local producers because they are often sold below their production costs.
