Indonesia’s Jakarta to build Chinese Peranakan Museum

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung announced that his administration will introduce a new historical tourist destination for local and international visitors. The historical site was given the name as the Peranakan Chinese Museum in the Glodok area of West Jakarta, Indonesia. Pramono hoped that the museum will become a new icon of pride for Jakarta.

He also noted that the Chinese community has made a significant contribution to the growth and development of Jakarta. Moreover, he had decided to immediately revitalize a number of other historic buildings, including the M.H. Thamrin Museum.
