India, Seychelles exchange seven MoUs

India and Seychelles exchanged seven Memoranda of Understanding in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Seychelles President Patrick Herminie at Hyderabad House in New Delhi.

Addressing the media during the joint statement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that India has extended a special economic assistance package worth 175 million dollars to Seychelles. Modi said “Development partnership has been the strong foundation of India-Seychelles relations.

The efforts are based on Seychelles priorities and needs. This package will support concrete projects in areas such as social housing, e-mobility, vocational training, health, defense, and maritime security. These initiatives will provide job opportunities to the youth of Seychelles. India-Seychelles partnership is entering a new phase”.
