In a major push to promote India’s rich handloom heritage, the Ministry of Textiles on Wednesday organized the ‘GI & Beyond 2.0 Summit’ in New Delhi.

The summit focused on strengthening the global identity of India’s Geographical Indication, or GI, handloom products. Through the Handloom Export Promotion Council, experts deliberated on GI registration and intellectual property rights, expanding the domestic and international market for GI products and enhancing the global branding of India’s traditional handloom sector.
