India calls for future-ready commonwealth at ministers meeting

Speaking after the conclusion of the 26th Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting in London, Indian Minister for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh highlighted the need for a modern and future-ready Commonwealth of Nations that delivers tangible benefits for all member states.

He stressed the importance of stronger partnerships among the 56-member group as it prepares for the challenges and opportunities ahead in 2026. Singh also highlighted priorities of the Global South, pointing to cooperation in areas such as digital public infrastructure, artificial intelligence for development, disaster resilience and inclusive economic growth.
