Illegal Trade: Timbers, Petroleum, Consumer Goods, Vehicles Confiscated

An effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law supervised by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee. Under the instructions of the Chairman of the Anti-Illicit Trade Task Force, a team confiscated consumer goods and auto parts without official documents from a truck with a semi-trailer  at the 20/5 milepost on Pyin Oo Lwin Road on 23 July.

On 24 July, a combined team seized 850 gallons of illegal crude oil in Chauk Township. And also illegal timbers were captured at the 160/6 milepost on the Pathein-Monywa Road in the Thayet district.

On 26 July, illegal timbers were impounded in Maungtaw and Taungup townships under the supervision of the Rakhine State Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force.

In addition, illegal timbers were confiscated in Bago and Thayawady districts. A team led by Myanmar Police Force seized an unregistered Nissan Fairlady-350z race car.Therefore, 13 arrests estimated at 61.26 million Kyats were made on 23, 24 and 26 July, according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.
