Illegal trade: Timbers, foodstuffs, raw chemicals, vehicles seized

On 10 November, an on-duty team of Illegal Trade task Force of Mandalay Region captured illegal sawn teak timbers and Isuzu light truck at 16th-mile Kyaukchaw checkpoint.

 On 11 November, a combined team led by Mandalay Region Customs department nabbed 1,057 cartons of various kinds of fruits without official documents from two vehicles carrying the fruits at 22nd- mile and three furlongs and 21st-mile and one furlong posts of PyinOoLwin-Mandalay road.

An on-duty team under the supervision of Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force of Bago Region nabbed 7,000 kilogrammes of carrot which is not declare in Import Declaration from a Nissan vehicle driven from Myawady to Yangon and the construction materials not declared in Import Declaration from a Hino truck which is carrying the goods at Shwe Than Lwin toll gate.

On 12 November, an on-duty team under the supervision of Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force of Kayin State arrested 4,000 kilos of High Density Polypropylene from a vehicle at Myawady OSS trade zone. On 13 November, an on-duty combination team seized 100 of electric rice cookers at Kawkareik (Tadakyo- combined checkpoint.

Therefore, 19 arrests at an estimated value of 357.885 million Kyats were made on four consecutive days from 10 to 13 November, according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee
