Illegal trade: Illegal timbers, production materials, vehicles seized

An effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law supervised by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.

On 15 November, an on-duty team captured silicon dioxide that took over 60 days from a container at the warehouse of Yangon International Airport, laminated safety glass that was reported by the owner to abandon from a container at the Asia World Port Terminal Container Checkpoint, four goods including iron rollers that were not declared in the Import Declaration (ID) and four goods including Paint Brushes that exceeded the Import Declaration (ID) from two containers at the Myanmar Industrial Port Container Checkpoint, three goods including easy chairs that exceeded the Import Declaration (ID) from a Cheng Long car with a trailer on Myawady-Hpa-an-Yangon road.

Similarly, a combined nabbed 10 motor schooners that were used in illegal gold mining in the Ayeyawady River in Bhamo Township, according to information. In addition, a total of 3.46 tonnes of illegal sawn teak, teak doors, and teak door parts was captured from a vehicle on Shwebo-Myitkyina Union Highway road in Mohnyin Township.
