Illegal Trade: Illegal Items Worth Over 178 Million Kyats Seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade. On April 19 April, undocumented consumer goods, food, and cosmetics were seized in Lashio of Shan State.

Also, on April 20, illegal timbers, medicines and juices were seized in Toungoo District and Thayawady District of Bago Region and at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) joint checkpoint in Kayin State.

In total, illegal items worth over 178 million Kyats were seized on the 19th and 20th of April. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
