Illegal Trade: Illegal items worth over 139 million Kyats seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On April 6, illegal timbers were seized in Bhamo Township area of Kachin State and Hlegu Township area of Yangon Region. On April 7, illegal glasses, optical slotting machines, vehicle spare parts and drinks were seized in Yangon Region and Mon State.

On April 8, illegal foodstuffs, drinks, alcohol, beer, motorbike spare parts and tiles were seized in Mon State, Chin State and Yangon Region. On April 9, illegal timbers and an unregistered motorbike were seized in Bago Region and Sagaing Region.

Totally, illegal items worth over 139 million Kyats were seized. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
