Illegal Trade: Illegal goods, chemicals, teak seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 19th, 20th and 21st of November, illegal goods, live cows, chemicals and teak worth over 178 million Kyats were seized at the Myanmar Industrial Port container checkpoint, at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) Combined checkpoint and on the Kalay-Tunzan Road as well as at the 16-mile Kyaukchaw checkpoint and in Taungoo District. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
