Hungary's new prime minister has pledged to revive the country's economy following the first change of government in 16 years in the Central European nation. Peter Magyar was sworn in at the National Assembly in Budapest on Saturday.

His party Tisza won more than two-thirds of the seats in the parliamentary election in April, ousting longtime Prime Minister Viktor Orban. Magyar said in an address to lawmakers that the Hungarian people have given him and his party a mandate to open a new chapter in the country's history. He stressed his intention of rebuilding the economy whose growth has remained sluggish.
