






A ceremony to honor the donation made by U Aung Myat from Mother Group of Companies made under the guidance of the venerable Sayadaw from the Thebyu Mahamyaing Tawya Sayadaw Dr. Bhaddanta Pyinnya Zawta , for surgery on patients with congenital cleft lips and palates was held on September 1st.
The ceremony was attended by Thebyu Mahamyaing Tawya Sayadaw Dr. Bhaddanta Pyinnya Zawta , Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin, and region ministers, the Head of the Magway Region Public Health and Medical Service Department, the Medial Superintendent of Magway People's Hospital, surgeons, and other health officials.
First, the audience took the Five Precepts from the Venerable Thabyu Sayadaw. Chief Minister U Tint Lwin then expressed his thanks and appreciation to the donor, U Aung Myat (Mother Group of Companies), for his donation to cover the surgery costs, which was made under the guidance of the Sayadaw.
The head of the region people’s hospital presented honorary gifts to Professor Dr. Hla Myo Naing from the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Yangon People's Hospital, and his team, who performed the surgeries. The Sayadaw and other donors then presented a monetary award of 13.5 million to the surgeons and their team. After that, the Sayadaw delivered a sermon for the enjoyment of donation.
After the ceremony, Venerable Thabyu Sayadaw, Chief Minister U Tint Lwin, and officials visited the patients with congenital cleft lips and palates who were admitted for surgery at the Japan Ward of the Magway People's Hospital. They offered words of encouragement and provided them with nutritional food and a monetary donation.
The free surgery program for patients with congenital cleft lips and palates is being carried out by a team led by Professor Dr. Hla Myo Naing. A total of 65 patients from 14 townships in the Magway Region underwent health screenings, blood tests, and X-rays on August 27 and 28. Surgeries will be performed on 34 of these patients on September 1 and 2.
