Honorary medals awarded

Indonesia’s president Joko Widodo has conferred honorary medals to 18 individuals, for their services and contributions, or innovations to the country.

President awarded the bintang republik indonesia adipradana, one of the state's highest civilian distinctions, to first lady iriana , and other medals to several figures at the state palace , in Jakarta on Monday.

At a ceremony, held as part of the commemoration series of the 78th anniversary of Indonesia’s independence, president Jokowi bestowed a total of 18 medals.
