In Hong Kong, many residents paid their respects to ancestors by visiting their tombs and making ritual offerings during Ching Ming Festival. Many residents arrived at the Diamond Hill Cemetery early morning of Wednesday to visit the graves of their deceased family members.

According to festival tradition, individuals clean the grave sites of their ancestors and give offerings such as roast pork and apples, and joss papers and incense sticks, which is another common form of offering. The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department reminded the public to be cautious when tossing paper offerings into joss paper burners to avoid accidents. On this public holiday, some travelled to the mainland and tickets were sold out for most trains.
