HK will convert 15 intersections into diagonal pedestrian crossings

Hong Kong’s Transport and Logistics Bureau will convert 15 intersections into diagonal pedestrian crossings this year, reducing pedestrian distance and time by approximately 30%.

The Bureau tested diagonal pedestrian crossings at two intersections in Tsim Sha Tsui and Shatin two years ago and the latest proposal is to expand this to 15 intersections in Hong Kong’s various locations. It is learned that completion is expected to begin in phases this year.
