Armed police forces worked for nine hours to restore flow of traffic on 23rd of February on the Sichuan-Tibet highway as the heavy snowstorm wreaked havoc on many sections of the highway. The snowstorm starting from 22nd of February disrupted traffic in multiple sections of the highway in Changdu City, China.
The rescuers distributed medicine and food to the stranded people. In spite of the high altitude of more than 4,000 meters and low visibility and temperature due to the continuous snow, the rescuers cleared over 70,000 cubic meters of snow on the highway of more than 100 kilometers, thus restoring traffic in all of the affected sections on Friday evening.
