Highway bus terminal: Highway bus terminal started running in Monywa

Over 100 highway bus lines are running from the highway terminal of  Monywa township, Sagaing Region to be convenient for the passengers from different parts of regions and states . Due to traffic jam in the city, highway bus terminal was built at the Netlu htike Pan ward in the Monywa Township in 2018 and started running in 2022.  

The area of the bus terminal is about 8 acres and there are about 16 food shops at the station.

Deputy director, Monywa City Development Committee, Htun Htun said "In the past, we had an old small bus terminal that has been established since 1996. Depend on the developing conditions, the buses are larger and the travelers become growing. So, we need more space than the small bus terminal. We built a new highway bus terminal due to requirement of space, traffic jam and the condition that had to park the buses outside of terminal compound."

In the bus terminal, to be convenient for the passengers, the room that holds five single toilets and the room for six single toilets and arrival stands have been arranged. Water storage tank that has capacity to hold about 15,000 Gallons and a 315 KV transformer have been constructed at the bus terminal. In addition, 14 fire engines for fire safety are arranged.

There are 33 bus gates and 26 bus lines are running at the Monywa highway bus terminal, it’s reported.
