Heavy rains leave streets waterlogged in New Delhi

Heavy rains in the early hours of Tuesday left several parts of Delhi waterlogged and traffic crawling. Many areas received around 100 mm of rainfall or more in the 24-hour period ending 8:30 am.

The weather department has placed all 11 districts of the capital under a red alert. Responding to the citywide waterlogging, Public Works Department officials said intensive pre-monsoon preparedness and field monitoring have helped reduce critical waterlogging spots across Delhi.
