Extreme heat waves continue hitting Japan with temperatures reaching 35 degrees or more in western and eastern parts of the country on Sunday. Daytime temperature reached 38.9 degrees in the town of Fukusaki, 38.6 degrees in the city of Hirakata, and 38.1 degrees in the city of Kyo-tanabe. People in areas affected by the 7th typhoon of the season are doing rebuilding work in the summer heat.

Local farmers gathered to remove mud that flowed into agricultural irrigation canals at the town of Yazu in Tottori Prefecture, which was affected by heavy rain from the typhoon. The burning hot weather is expected to continue in the following days.
