




Union Minister for Health Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win inspected the Monywa Saya Moe traditional medicines manufacturing factory in KyoeKone Village of Hlegu Township.
There, he inspected raw materials storage, medicines manufacturing process, packaging and quality control works. The Union Minister also stressed that the government encourages the traditional medicine sector and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
Traditional medicine producers must identify medicinal methods from the Myanmar traditional medicine book, conduct scientific research and produce traditional medicines that will benefit the public, based on the research results. Raw materials must be grown and produced locally, and quality control from raw materials to finished products must always be improved.
He pledged to provide assistance for the cultivation and production of raw materials in the traditional medicinal gardens under the Department of Traditional Medicine. The Union Minister also inspected the 50-bed People’s Hospital in Hlegu Township and heard reports. In his response, he said that public health projects with international support must be carried out effectively to benefit the public.
In addition to the treatment activities, it is necessary to coordinate with the relevant departments to carry out the teaching activities in an orderly manner.
The COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures as well as the vaccination programme must continue. There, the Union Minister also inspected the laboratory, X-ray room, operating theatre and wards before giving necessary instructions. The Union Minister also inspected the 50-bed People’s Hospital in Hmawbi Township and gave necessary instructions.
