Healthcare and Welfare: Shan State CM inspected healthcare and welfare to retirees

Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, accompanied by officials, visited the State Sports Training Hall in Taunggyi to observe the free healthcare services being provided to retired civil servants under the guidance of the Shan State Government on February 24. During the visit, the Chief Minister offered words of encouragement and distributed foodstuffs.

The Chief Minister and party observed medical specialists from Sao San Tun General Hospital and the Women and Children's Hospital providing comprehensive care. The medical services included general medicine, ophthalmology (eye care), dental and oral health, obstetrics and gynecology and pediatrics.

Additionally, the Chief Minister and officials inspected the opening of summer basic sports training courses and provided words of encouragement to the participants.

Under the guidance of the Shan State Government, welfare programs are being implemented for retirees on their pension withdrawal days. Each retiree is eligible to purchase edible palm oil at a rate of 1.5 viss (approx. 2.45 kg) and rice at a rate of 8 pyi (approx. 17 kg). The State Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department, in collaboration with the Shan State Livestock Federation, facilitated the sale of eggs at fair prices. The Chief Minister cordially greeted the retirees and oversaw these sales operations.

Free healthcare services for retired civil servants are scheduled to be provided monthly, starting from the pension disbursement date on the 21st until the end of the month.

Afterward, the Chief Minister and officials visited the Myanma Economic Bank to observe retirees withdrawing their pensions, where he cordially greeted and encouraged the senior retirees, it’s reported.
