Health Sector: MoH Union Minister Inspected DPH And MGH

Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win accompanied by the senior officials on 27th July met the officials concerned from the Department of Public Health at the University of Medicine (Mandalay) and instructed for the convenience of public healthcare and medical treatment.

At the meeting, the union minister said that it’s important to continue implementing the prevention, control and giving treatment of AIDS, TB, Malaria diseases. The relevant project managers need to meet the long term and short-term plans as per the projects.

The responsible officials need to supervise not to waste and to use productively the medicines purchased by the state spending multi-million Kyats. The regular vaccination process should be carried out maintaining the momentum and the hospital-based vaccination process must be stepped up.

Next, the officials from the projects of elimination of AIDS, TB and Malaria and project for expansion of vaccination clarified the work implementations and the union minister and director general of the department of public health. In the morning on 28th July, the union minister and party visited Mandalay People’s Hospital and inspected medical treatments and coordinated necessaries.

First, the union minister viewed the giving treatment to the patients at Integrated HIV Care Clinic, machines installed in Radiation Oncology and radiation therapy, medical oncology and chemotherapy, instructed to arrange for the patients to undergo treatment timely manner and receiving medical care in a peace in mind, met with the patients and gave words of encouragement.

Then, the union minister and party visited laboratory and examining of laboratory tests and fulfilled requirements to carry out the tasks with full capacity. Next, the union minister inspected cardiac department, cardiac cath lab, cardiac care unit (CCU), preparation of new facility of CCU, installation of CT and MRI machines and gave necessary instructions. Afterward, the union minister inspected the diagnostic tools and work process at PET/CT and Cyclotron Center, gave necessary instructions and tended the needs.
