Health Information: Detection Of COVID-19 Variant ‘Omicron’

Ministry of Health released information on detection of the COVID-19 variant ‘Omicron’. The information states that the Ministry is continuously conducting “COVID-19 Molecular Disease Surveillance”, and releasing information on the detection of COVID-19 variant ‘Omicron’ from those who return by relief flights.

The laboratory samples of the COVID-19 virus of 40 returnees from India, UAE, Malaysia and Thailand and laboratory samples of 2 foreigners were tested and the COVID-19 variant ‘Omicron’ was detected. They have been admitted to designated hospitals for medical treatment - those who took the same flights with them now undergo quarantine and lab tests.
