Health Fund: 215 Million USD Grant MoU Signed For Healthcare Services

Access to Health Fund and Ministry of Health and Sports signed MoU on grants for healthcare services in Myanmar. In his address at the Signing Ceremony in Nay Pyi Taw, Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr. Myint Htwe expressed words of thanks for the grants.

He also pledged to use the grants effectively for the healthcare services across the country. Under the 5-year MoU (2019-2023), Access to Health Fund provides 215 million USD to the Ministry of Health and Sports and INGOs for healthcare services in 144 townships of 8 regions and states.

The MoU covers implementing the National Healthcare Project, fighting tuberculosis, nutritional development, child development, maternal and reproductive health, fight against HIV/AIDS, drug rehabilitation, hepatitis treatment and prevention.

The Signing Ceremony of Grants was followed by a 3-day workshop on drawing up work plans and building capacity of employees for flow of funds producers.
