U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris tours electric school buses at Meridian High School in Falls Church, Virginia as she promotes the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law investments in clean school buses. Harris announced $500 million in funding for school districts and other eligible school bus operators and contractors to begin replacing the nation's fleet of school buses with clean, American-made, zero-emission buses.

Kamala Harris, U. S. Vice President said "Diesel exhaust is a poison. Breathing diesel fumes can cause headaches and nausea. It can worsen asthma and chronic bronchitis. It can even elevate the risk of cancer. If your child rides the bus half an hour to school and half an hour of back every day from the first day of kindergarten to high school graduation, they will experience the equivalent of 90 full days of exposure to diesel exhaust."

Harris says these investments from the $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure law that Biden signed in November are ensuring healthier communities and creating American jobs.
