Grief in Colombia, as death toll of dramatic fuel truck explosion rises

The death toll from a fuel truck explosion rose on Tuesday. The Monday blast in northern Colombia initially left at least seven people dead and more than 50 injured. According to local media, the tragedy unfolded when the fuel truck overturned on a road east of Barranquilla. A group of people gathered around the vehicle trying to fill it with gas when it exploded.

On Tuesday, families anxiously waited for news on their loved ones while some of the injured were transferred to Bogota for additional treatment. As of Tuesday, six people are still missing.
