Graduation Performance: State High School of Fine Art Students’ Performance

Students from the State High School of Art (Yangon) staged a graduation performance on Friday.

The students staged their works of arts on paintings and sculptures.

The officials presented the completion certificates of medals, before enjoying the variety performance by the students.

Principal, Department of Art and Music, the State High School of Fine Art, Zin Mar Win said "Those who wish to join the school must pass Grade-9, and they have to continue their academic studies along with the study of arts. And for those who only wish to study art, we allow enrollment if they passed Grade-8. The age limit for those who passed Grade-9 is 18 year and for musical instrument studies, we allowed till 20 year of age."

The State High School of Art was established in Yangon in 1952 and in Mandalay in 1953.

The schools provide 3-year full-time course of academic year by learning high school lessons plus their favourite subject of arts.

6 major subjects are being conducted which include dancing, playing musical instruments and traditional orchestra.

Director General, Fine Arts Department, Nyunt Win said "I want the young people to study the arts. Here in this school, we provide systematic training and nurture them to be excelled in art works. The main mission of the Ministry is to expose the hidden arts of Myanmar traditional culture and safeguard it while striving for promoting the art standard."

The Government provides 30,000 kyats stipend for the students. After completing the three years studies, the students can continue their studies either at the universities of arts and science or the National University of Arts and Culture. They will also be appointed as the staff of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture.
