This past June was recorded as the hottest in the history of Europe, with regional heat records in France and Spain surpassing 40 degree Celsius in the past week. The heatwave and near-record temperatures across Europe are the face of climate change, an expert said on Tuesday.

Meteorologist, World Meteorological Organization, Omar Baddour said "We have not completed the data to announce and determine that the heatwave is attributed to climate change. So we cannot say whether it will be repeated in Europe, but we are sure that during this summer, we will have it with whether in Europe, or in Asia, or in North America. This has become a frequent observation that we notice."

What was once regarded as unusually hot weather will become more commonplace, an expert said, emphasizing that action to prevent further global warming should be taken sooner rather than later.
