German charity vessel saves migrants off Libya

Rescuers aboard a German charity vessel saved dozens of migrants off the Libyan coast on Saturday. Footage shared by Sea-Watch showed rescuers pulling migrants into small rescue boats after their vessel sank.

Since April 8, Sea-Watch has rescued 211 people in five separate operations. According to the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, over 17,000 refugees and migrants have arrived by sea in Southern Europe in 2022.
