Gender-Based Violence Response: SWRR Ministry Organizes Training in Nay Pyi Taw

The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement opened the Gender-based Violence Response Training Course No.2 for Help Line staff from the Head Office at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw, Monday.

At the event, Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Thet Thet Khine said that as the ministry is providing services to individuals, it is very important that the services provided by the ministry are systematic.

It is necessary to have sympathy and empathy as they are helping in line with social welfare ways. It needs to address the social problems faced by vulnerable groups with sympathy and empathy.

From the launch of Help Line in 2016 to February 2022, there have been 1,680 complaints and there will be more cases of domestic violence.

The Union Minister called for the staff who are working in the Help Line to be patience and listen to those who contact them. 26 trainees are attending the course which is run for two days from 28th to 29th March.
