Gas truck explodes leaving at least 2 dead and dozens injured

A tanker truck carrying gas exploded in a residential area of Lima, Peru on Thursday, leaving at least two people dead and about 50 injured. According to witnesses, the explosion occurred when the truck hit a pothole that damaged the bottom of the truck and caused a gas leak. They said the truck driver tried to close the valves to stop the gas from escaping, but was unable to do so. The driver of the truck is believed to have died in the explosion.
