


The G20 ministerial meeting began in India on Saturday. Japan's Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Nishimura Yasutoshi is participating. The delegates are expected to discuss diversifying supply chains, expanding the use of renewable energy and helping developing countries reduce their carbon dioxide emissions.
Nishimura plans to express Japan's willingness to offer clean technology assistance to emerging and developing nations collectively known as the Global South. Specifically, he is expected to mention support for them to introduce renewable energy and thermal power generation technology that can cut CO2 emissions through the use of hydrogen and ammonia. The G20 grouping includes China and Russia.
