








The second friendship music performance by the Belarus Music Band, currently in Myanmar, was held at the Convocation Hall of the Defence Services Technological Academy in Pyin Oo Lwin in the evening on October 6.
The performance was attended by Major-General Soe Myat Htut, Commandant of the Pyin Oo Lwin Station and Commandant of the Defence Services Academy, Mr. Alexander Ostrovskiy, Vice-Chairman of the Myanmar-Russia Friendship Association, and responsible officials, senior officers from the Pyin Oo Lwin Station, officers, other ranks, and their families, cadets, relevant departments, and invited guests.
At the event, Vice-Chairman of the Myanmar-Russia Friendship Association Mr. Alexander Ostrovskiy, delivered introductory remarks.
Afterwards, led by Belarusian musician and composer/singer Mr. Vladimir Sukolinsky, vocalists Ms. Nadezhda Bryleva and Ms. Anzhelika Zaitseva performed a total of 17 songs included songs composed about the traditional theme of love in Russia and Belarus, a song written to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Belarus-Myanmar friendship, a song about the Myanmar New Year Thingyan festival, a song about the historic ancient city of Bagan, traditional Belarusian songs, and popular contemporary songs.
After the performance concluded, the Commander of the Pyin Oo Lwin Station and his wife presented honorary bouquets and gifts to the Belarusian artists. This Belarus Music Band had previously held a joint Myanmar-Belarus music performance in the evening on 5at the Mandalay City Hall in collaboration with artists from the National University of Arts and Culture (Mandalay).
In the morning on October 6, they visited the Maha Loka Marazin Kuthodaw Pagoda at the foot of Mandalay Hill and the Mandalay Hill.
During their stay in Myanmar, the Belarus Music Band will also perform joint vocal and dance performances featuring artists from Myanmar, Russia, and Belarus in Nay Pyi Taw and Yangon. This cultural and artistic collaboration performance program was jointly organized by the Ministry of Information of the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Myanmar-Russia Friendship Association. This is done not only to build government-to-government friendship but also to further strengthen and solidify the friendly relations between the peoples of the two nations, Myanmar and Belarus, It is learnt.
