








The welcoming ceremony for the new trainees of the 2025-2026 academic year, Diploma in Education and Teaching Methodology (Dip. EP) Batch (2), was held on the morning of October 8 at the Pancabala Multi-Purpose Hall of the Monywa Education Degree College in Sagaing Region. The ceremony was attended by the Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw, who delivered the opening address.
Following this, the Region Chief Minister presented honorary funds totaling 2.3 million kyats for the Dip.EP Batch (2) trainees and subsistence allowance totaling 9.858 million kyats for the 212 trainees of Monywa Education Degree College, awarding them to the trainees.
Subsequently, the Region Minister for Security and Border Affairs presented cash award of 300,000 Kyats to Maung Zin Myo Aung, a Lu Yay Chun Outstanding Students from the 2024-2025 Education Degree College level. The Region Minister for Transport also presented 100,000 Kyats to the Principal of Monywa Education Degree College. The Principal of Monywa Education Degree College then delivered a welcome address.
Afterwards, the female trainees of Dip.EP Batch (2) performed songs and a Fitness Dance. The Region Minister for Ethnic Affairs presented cash award of 300,000 Kyats to the trainees who performed.
Furthermore, the Region Chief Minister and responsible officials visited the historic Su Taung Pyae Pagoda in Monywa to observe the ongoing offering of the full golden robe to the pagoda. They also inspected the newly constructed and completed Ahrun Khan (prayer hall) within the pagoda compound, as well as the completed offering of the full golden robe and the completed renovations at the historic Yan Aung Myin Pagoda.
Similarly, on the evening of October 7, the Region Chief Minister and responsible officials visited the Thadingyut Festival being held in the People's Park, covering over 32 acres in Chanmyawady Ward, Monywa Township.
They observed the reception performances by famous singers, which were being joyfully supported by departmental staff, students from universities/degree colleges in Monywa, and residents. Together with the responsible persons, they also joyfully released 1,000 hot-air balloons within the People's Park, set off fireworks, and warmly went around greeting staff from the respective departments.
