French Member of Parliament Sébastien Delogu has been fined €5,000 by a Marseille court for "aggravated violence" against two senior officials from the National Education system during a high school blockade in 2023, a charge he disputes.

The MP for Marseille’s northern districts received a lighter sentence than the prosecutor’s request, which had called for a six-month suspended prison term. Nevertheless, he plans to appeal the decision, according to his lawyer.
