Free cleft lip and palate surgical treatments: Surgical care for patients is underway in Nay Pyi Taw

With the collaboration of the Japanese Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons from Japan Heart and Dental Specialists from the Ministry of Health, 4 patients who suffer the cleft lips and palates were conducted free surgery every Wednesday at the Dental Specialists Hospital in Pobbathiri Township in Nay Pyi Taw, it is learnt.

The Japan Heart, which signed a MoU with the Department of Medical Services under the Ministry of Health, has been cooperating in medical sector since 2004.

The plastic surgeons from Japan and oral and dental surgeons from Myanmar have given free surgical treatment to about 300 patients with the cleft palate and lips until now.

At this dental hospital, congenital cleft palates and lips patients were allowed to receive free surgical treatment every Wednesday so that patients with cleft lips and palates across Myanmar can come to this dental hospital in Pobbathiri Township of Naypyitaw at any time for free surgical care.
