Former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant Resigns

The former Israeli Defense Minister who was sacked by Prime Minister two months ago, announced on Wednesday his resignation from the Israeli parliament.

Despite disagreements with members of the ruling Likud party, led by the Prime Minister, he said he would remain a member of the party and promised to return to the political arena.

In his resignation message, he referred to his actions as Defense Minister before and after the 7 October attack and said “he was responsible for everything that happened, from the beginning of his position in the months before the war until the end of his position more than a year after the start of the war.”
