Forest Conservation : MONREC Union Minister inspects forest plantations

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi accompanied by concerned officials conducted field inspection on tree plantation along Yangon-Mandalay high way on September 6th.

First, the Union Minister and party arrived at Salu Forest Reserve in Bago Township and inspected the 5 acres plantation and 20 acres bamboo, rattan and wood plantations and gave necessay instructions. He also inspected the forest plantations at Baidar  Forest Reserve in Daik-U Township,  Ai Tone Kon Forest Reserve in Kyaukdaga Township, Sai Ya  forest reserve in Yedashe  Township and Yae Ni  forest reserve in Lewe Township in Nay Pyi Taw.

And, the Union Minister instructed for forest preservation and planting more trees in next monsoon season. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation is implementing to accelerate tree plantation annually along motor ways in 13 dry zone areas including Yangon-Mandalay Highway and ASEAN Highway to create greening environ.
