Fishing Boat Fire In Kawthaung: 1 Man Dead, 4 Men Injured

The fire broke out from a fishing boat out of 5 owned by U Soe Lwin, docking near Shwe Wet Wun bridge in Kawthaung, Taninthayi Region at about 1:30 pm on Monday due to electric wire shock while repairing power cable lines.

 The fire spike spread to nearby two fishing boats. Local military personnel from the Coastal Region Command, members of Myanmar Police Force, Departmentals  and social organizations in cooperation with local residents put out fire by 8 fire engines and the fire could be extinguished at about 2:30 pm. Due to the incident, one man was dead4 men were injured.

The injured persons were transported to the People’s hospital in Kawthaung and the necessary medical treatments were provided to them.
