







Union Minister for Finance and Revenue Dr. Kan Zaw attended the First World Public Assembly on New World of Conscious Unity, held in Moscow, Russian Federation from September 20 to 21, 2025.
The assembly was convened in honor of the International Day of Peace, which falls on September 21. On the first day of the assembly, September 20 in the afternoon, the Union Minister attended the opening ceremony alongside Mr. Sergey Glazyev, Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Russia-Belarus Union State, Mr. Sergey Lebedev, Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), as well as ministers, mayors, and business leaders from Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Participants delivered opening addresses at the assembly.
Following this, the Union Minister held a meeting with Mr. Andrey Belyaninov, Secretary General of the World Peoples Assembly, where they exchanged gifts. On the second day of the assembly, September 21 in the morning, a Business Forum was held.
The Union Minister attended alongside high-level representatives from Asian, African, and European countries, BRICS, and the SCO, as well as representatives from other countries and international organizations. The Union Minister delivered a presentation titled "From People Trust to Economic Trust (Humanitarian Foundations of Partnership)". Subsequently, a Panel Session was held under the theme "The Role of Business in Economic Integration amid Global Changes".
Participants from BRICS member states and other countries emphasized the importance of international cooperation for economic development amidst global changes and discussed practical recommendations and potential methods for business collaboration.
In the evening, the Union Minister and his delegation attended the closing ceremony held at the main assembly hall. On September 22, the delegation visited the State Duma of the Russian Federation. The Union Minister met with Mr. Sholban Kara-ool, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
They discussed constitutional matters and issues related to the upcoming elections in Myanmar, exploring ways in which the Russian Federation could assist in ensuring the successful holding of the elections. The delegation also toured the museum located within the State Duma building.
Later, at the invitation of Mr. Andrey Margolin, Vice Rector of the Russian Presidential Academy, the Union Minister, accompanied by the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma, visited the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA).
At the academy, the Union Minister gave a talk on the "Economic Development of Myanmar" to students enrolled in the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program. He also answered questions from the students and toured the university's academic buildings and facilities within the campus. The Union Minister and his delegation departed from Moscow on the evening of September 22 and arrived back in Yangon on the evening of September 23.
