Environmental conservation: Environmental conservation committee held 2nd meeting

The 2nd coordination meeting of the environmental conservation committee was held at the department of environmental conservation, Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 26 July with the attendance of the Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi in his capacity as the Chairman of the committee together with the deputy ministers, member of Nay Pyi Taw Council, permanent secretaries, members of environmental conservation working committee of the national disaster management central committee and the regions and states ministers for natural resources who attended via Virtual system.

At the meeting, the union minister stressed the need to address the environmental conservation for the achievement of sustainable development, economic and social development as well as clean environment and well ecosystem. The climate change, extinction of biodiversity and environmental pollutions are threatening the economic and social improvement. Myanmar together with the global community to implement the objectives as per sector including in the work process of national level climate mitigation and adaptation in line with the Paris Accord, the cooperation of the relevant ministries is important.

Next, the vice chairman and secretary clarified the implementations of environmental conservation process, the attendees discussed the works done on the decisions made at the first meeting  and future work plans and the decisions were made on the facts of discussion.
