Environmental Conservation: Efforts and greening environ and forest conservation

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi, together with officials, on 31st August visited No-5 Forest Research Camp (Moe Swe) where they inspected the progress of dormitory construction and planting of saplings.

The Union Minister then proceeded to Plot Nos (67) and (77) in PaLwe forest reserve to inspect the thriving of teak plantations and  stressed to ensure the protection of forest plantations. He also encouraged the final years students from the University of Forestry and Environmental Science, who are on the field trip for practical experience.

After that, the Union Minister observed the research plots including black teak, Padauk and bamboo, where officials presented the aim of research and result respectively.

The Union Minister instructed that research activities play a vital role for sustainability of forest resources and it is necessary to apply the results in practical fields while developing the new research plots.

Next, the Union Minister, accompanied by Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, inspected the thriving of mass tree plantations along Yangon-Mandalay Expressway, and stressed to conduct the greening and beautifying measure. In the afternoon, the Union Minister visited the the watershed plantation in Lewe and instructed the necessaries.
