Energy, Transport, Agriculture and Forestry: MoALI Union Minister participates in ASEAN meetings online

Meetings of ASEAN Economic Community Council Ministers and ASEAN Energy Ministers, Ministers of Transport and Agriculture and Forestry Ministers hosted by Cambodia were held on Wednesday.

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo, Deputy Minister Dr Aung Gyi and delegates participated in the meetings online together with AEC Council Ministers, ASEAN Energy Ministers, Transport Ministers and Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry from ASEAN member states.

At the meeting, they discussed the initial activities for carbon reduction in ASEAN region and the main activities to be carried out among the sector, providing inputs including natural fertilizers and soil methods by the government for rehabilitation of small plot farmers affected by COVID-19 in Myanmar, maintaining the agricultural land, implementation of 275,000 hectares of agricultural land to the plant coverage area and plan to collect 10. 4 million tons of carbon dioxide emission (tCO2e) by Myanmar during 2021-2030.

Later, The Statement on meetings of ASEAN Economic Community Council Ministers and ASEAN Energy Ministers, Ministers of Transport and Agriculture and Forestry Ministers were approved.
