Embankment Repair Works : President inspects dyke breach in Nyaungdon

President U Min Aung Hlaing inspected a damaged embankment in Nyaungdon Township of Ayeyawady Region on Saturday, following flooding caused by the breach.

He instructed officials to quickly control the water entering the affected areas and strengthen and repair the embankment to withstand future high water levels. He also urged officials to improve drainage and water flow, reduce damage to crops, and identify other weak sections of the embankment for preventive repairs.

The President also instructed to assess the damage to homes, farmland and livelihoods and provide timely emergency assistance, food and other support to affected residents.
