Elimination of Child Labour: Magway Region’s Committees Hold Coordination Meeting

Magway Region’s Work Committee and Sub-Committee on Elimination of Child Labour held a coordination meeting at the regional government office.
In this meeting, Chief Minister U Tint Lwin highlighted the state’s Elimination of Child Labour programme. According to the second annual labor survey report of 2019, there are 12.7 million children in Myanmar, of which 0.4 million are working, and 0.25 million are working in hazardous jobs.
According to the national work plan for the elimination of child labour, the 5-year programme from 2019 to 2023 is being implemented, the Chief Minister added. This meeting continued with discussions by the work and sub-committees on completed tasks, ongoing tasks and plans for elimination of child labour.
