


On Saturday, Thai election commission officials in Bangkok conducted final inspections to prepare boxes and ballot papers on the eve of a general election.
Thai people will vote Sunday in an election, pitting, the caretaker Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul’s Bhumjaithai party, which is backed by Thailand’s royalist conservative establishment, against the progressive youth-led People’s Party. About 53 million people in the kingdom of 71 million are eligible to vote. A referendum ballot on the same day will also give voters a chance to voice whether they want constitutional reform in principle.
