
Dozens of elderly people in the South African township of Soweto came out to receive their coronavirus vaccine on Monday as the country sees a surge in the number of people being infected with COVID-19. South Africa aims to vaccinate around 5 million elderly people and other vulnerable sections of the population.
At a vaccination site in Soweto, many elderly people sat and waited patiently for their jab with some expressing their excited at receiving their vaccine. South Africa so far has administered 1.34 million doses of the Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson jabs.
